Medical visual question answering: A survey

Medical Visual Question Answering~(VQA) is a combination of medical artificial intelligence and popular VQA challenges. Given image clinically relevant question in natural language, the system expected to predict plausible convincing answer. Although general-domain has been extensively studied, still needs specific investigation exploration due its task features. In first part this survey, we collect discuss publicly available datasets up-to-date about data source, quantity, feature. second part, review approaches used tasks. We summarize their techniques, innovations, potential improvements. last analyze some medical-specific challenges for field future research directions. Our goal provide comprehensive helpful information researchers interested visual answering encourage them conduct further field.
